National Palace Museum

The National Palace Musuem is one of the largest and most impressive museums located in Taipei. Its collection, as mentioned in this poster, spans over eight thousand years of Chinese history and contains many pieces from the various dynasties.

The museum's buildings were constructed in the 60s and contains a main gate as well as other traditional looking features.

While you are here, be sure not to miss the impressive and highly realistic looking jade cabbage carved from a single piece of jade or the pork meat stone piece. The collection is really rather extensive and can definitely take up several hours to browse.

Near the museum is the Chih-shan garden, replete with quaint pavilions, arched bridges, walkways, trees and koi ponds.
