San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront

The San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront was a great airport hotel for an overnight stay.  As a Category 5 Marriott, I was redeeming my annual Category 1-5 free night award here and it was certainly well spent.  The prime waterfront location and its proximity to the airport make its location truly ideal especially if you're looking for a place to stay near SFO located between San Francisco and San Jose.

Located just down the road from the Westin San Francisco Airport, the Marriott offers a gorgeous view of the San Francisco Bay and sits right along the waterfront where a boardwalk, oft used by joggers, is located.

The room was fairly standard with two double beds and definitely very comfortable although the view from the window was just that of Highway 101. I did like the cool-looking lamp by the bed though.

As a Gold Elite member, our parking was waived and we were provided with complimentary tickets to the morning buffet.  Breakfast was offered at the Hangar Steak

which required a walk through the lobby/lounge area which offered comfortable sofa and chaise seating in an open, airy and well-lit atrium area.

The breakfast though really surpassed my expectations. Aside from the station for customizing an omelette, and the usual selection of sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs,

we got to pick from an assortment of goodies such as cantaloupe and watermelon juice, berry smoothies and fruit yogourt that was presented in such an appealing and tasteful manner.

On top of which, there were oak-smoked salmon cones alongside norwegian smoked salmon and a few other goodies. The quality of the food was quite good and certainly exceeded my expectations. In fact, it almost reminded me of the breakfast buffet at the Courtyard Seoul Times Square albeit a bit smaller-scale.

And one last shot of the beautiful San Francisco Bay waterfront view from the hotel restaurant.
