Trump International Hotel Las Vegas

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! I'd been waiting for this past weekend with great anticipation as we'd be staying at the Vdara Hotel and the Trump International in Las Vegas. More on the Vdara in the next post but whatever you may think about the Donald's hair, the hotel is DEFINITELY pretty swanky. Here's a picture from outside:

The entire hotel is gold plated so its hard to miss this hotel at the north end of the Strip. Location-wise, the Trump is a bit of a long walk from most of the main hotels/casinos but it does offer a complimentary shuttle to/from the Caesar's Forum Shops. If you do walk up, it is located across from Nordstrom in the Fashion Show Mall so you can walk through the mall to get the the hotel.

The lobby and check in area is palatial with gorgeous chandeliers and a very courteous and welcoming reception desk.

We didn't get a chance to use the pool (which was a bit smaller and lengthier than we had imagined) but here's a look at the gym which features a pretty complete set of equipment.

We had a one bedroom corner suite in the hotel and it was definitely incredible. Just as you enter, on the left is the kitchen area with two complimentary bottles of water provided daily (trust me, you'll need those in Vegas as it gets pretty dry), and high-end appliances from Bosch, Wolf and Sub-zero (although you most likely won't make too much use of those).

The living room contains a giant L shaped couch where two people could probably comfortably sleep in case you have friends who might want to crash. The dining table and furniture all complement each other nicely and give the suite a very tasteful tone.

There is one bathroom with shower located near the dining table for guest usage.

The bedroom features gorgeous floor to ceiling windows that look down South over the Strip and west towards Blue Diamond Hill. The picture below shows the view of the hills on the west side.

The bathroom probably warrants the most attention as it is palatial, taking as much room as the entire bedroom! The spa-tub could easily fit four people and offers a gorgeous view of the Strip where (at least from this room) you can get a partial view of the Bellagio fountains and catch glimpses of the fireworks from the Treasure Island Sirens show. The toilet is hidden behind a frosted glass door offering some privacy.

Last but not least, the mirror facing the twin sinks includes an in-mirror plasma TV so that you can even watch TV while enjoying the spa tub.

By any measure, the Trump Hotel offers a stunning suite for a Vegas getaway. The room amenities are an indulgence and will no doubt leave you wanting for more. I would recommend though, unless you want to get a decent walk each day down the Strip or you happen to have a car, to find another hotel closer to the Strip if proximity to attractions is important to you.
