The Admiral: Roaring Currents Review (2014)

Personal Rating: Loved it!

Story:
Reinstated Admiral Yi Sun Shin is faced with an seemingly insurmountable task of defending Joseon against the invading Japanese navy. His force of 13 warships with very low morale faces a Japanese navy of over 300 ships intent on sailing straight to Hanyang. The King had already issued an order to abandon the ships while the units under his command are wavering at the insurmountable odds. How will the Admiral make this last stand?

My Gangster Lover Review (2010)

Personal Rating: Loved it!

Story:
My Gangster Lover, aka My Dear Desperado, tells of an over-the-hill gangster who's been released after several years in prison who happens to get a new neighbor in the form of Han Se Jin, an unemployed job seeker after she lost her first job after moving to Seoul. These unlikely neighbors end up running into each other fairly often and gradually their relationship evolves.

Story:
A gang of South Korean professional thieves team up with another group from Hong Kong under the direction of team leader Macau Park to steal a precious diamond necklace from a securely guarded safe in a casino suite in Macu. Will the thieves make it out with the treasure smoothly?  And what is Macau Park's real agenda?

Good Morning President Review (2009)

Personal Rating: All time favourite!!

Story:
Good Morning President tells of three different fictional South Korean Presidents faced with some non-political life dilemmas. The first must decide whether or not to report a winning lottery ticket, the second faces the issue of organ donation while the third has to deal with marital issues. Although maintaining its seriousness throughout, the movie pokes fun at the three leaders and examines the human side of the presidency.

Antique Review (2008)

Personal Rating: Enjoyable

Story:
This korean movie adaptation, not to be confused with the japanese drama adaptation starring Tackizawa Hideaki, is based on the same manga Antique Bakery by Fumi Yoshinaga. It tells of Kim Jin Hyuk who opens a cake shop and hires pastry chef Min Seon Woo, a former classmate who had a huge crush on him. Watch on to find out what continually haunts Jin Hyuk and what makes Seon Woo tick.

The King and the Clown Review (2005)

Personal Rating: Loved it!

Story:
The King and the Clown recounts the story of King Yeonsan, one of the more tyrannical of Joseon's rulers, who takes in a travelling troupe of street performers to provide him with occasional entertainment. However, the King gradually begins to take a liking for the effeminate Gonggil, much to the dismay of Jangsaeng, who has been trying to protect his friend. In court, their performances take on darker and more questionable topics as the unstable King appears to become consumed with wrath, exhibiting highly erratic behaviour.
